Nicole Kidman and her husband, country music superstar Keith Urban, have two young daughters — Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, 7. And the girls have recently been asking their mom why her two older kids aren’t a bigger part of their lives. When Kidman and Tom Cruise were married back in the 1990s, the former couple adopted two children, Bella, 25, and Connor, 23, and now the Aussie actress is hoping to bring her four kids together.
“Nicole is trying to organize a big family get-together,” says an insider. “She feels the need for some kind of connection between her four children.”
Kidman agreed to let Cruise raise Connor and Bella after their divorce in 2001. Both kids chose to live with Cruise and are members of the Church of Scientology. Neither of them calls Kidman mom, and she didn’t attend Bella’s wedding in 2015.
But now, with Sunday and Faith getting older, the Oscar winner sees the importance of the two young girls getting the chance to bond with their big sister and big brother.
Kidman recently reconciled with her oldest daughter after Bella started her own T-shirt brand that she calls BKC, which stands for Bella Kidman Cruise. This was the first time the young designer publicly acknowledged her mother’s name, and the two have gotten closer over the past few months and are focusing on moving forward with their relationship.
Meanwhile, the 51-year-old was recently her young daughters’ hero when she captured a giant black tarantula near the family’s swimming pool. In a clip that the Big Little Lies star posted on Instagram, both Faith and Sunday are screaming as their mom calmly approaches the spider.
One of Kidman’s daughters’ shouts that she should step back, and the other asked if it really was a tarantula. It was, but that didn’t faze the laidback Kidman who turns the camera towards herself and reveals she has trapped it inside a glass.
At the end of the video, Nicole Kidman says that it is her job to take care of the spider, and she decided to release it instead of killing it.
She ended up captioning the post, “Houseguest! Catch and release…spider released unharmed and healthy. Happy Sunday.”
