Nicole Eggert has made multiple allegations against Charles in Charge director and co-star Scott Baio ranging from child sexual abuse to physical abuse. One of the incidents that she’s mentioned multiple times involves Scott Baio dragging her across the Charles in Charge set by her hair. Eggert isn’t alone in her claims of alleged abuse as another co-star, Alexander Polinsky, also alleged sexual harassment and child abuse claims. Scott Baio has denied all of the allegations, states he is innocent and has vowed to clear his name.
On Wednesday, February 14, 2018, Alexander Polinsky and Nicole Eggert held a live press conference at the office of their attorney Lisa Bloom and laid out the allegations against Baio. While the press conference was held as a way of introducing Lisa Bloom as Alexander Polinsky’s attorney and for the two to confirm each other’s abuse allegations as witnesses, Nicole Eggert not only discussed the hair dragging incident but said a witness verified the account to the police.
Nicole Eggert and Alexander Polinsky filed police reports on February 6, 2018, detailing their claims of abuse. Lisa Bloom recently stated during an interview that police were given a list of witnesses who not only saw abuse but saw the unfolding and developing sexual relationship between Nicole Eggert when she was 14-years-old and Scott Baio when he was 25-years-old.
You may see the video footage from the press conference where Nicole Eggert makes her allegations of physical abuse against Scott Baio in the player below. You may fast-forward the video to 16:08 to hear the remarks.
Nicole Eggert and Lisa Bloom stated the LAPD not only has a list of approximately a dozen witnesses who saw Scott Baio behaving inappropriately with her when she was a minor, but another cast member has made a statement to police.
The allegation that a witness has come forward to say they witnessed Scott Baio dragging Nicole by her hair may end up being incredibly damaging. Both Nicole and Alex referred to Scott Baio as being a tyrant on the Charles in Charge set.
Though Nicole Eggert, Alexander Polinsky, and Lisa Bloom have been accused of seeking notoriety, Lisa Bloom is representing her clients pro-bono. They have not filed a civil suit and both Nicole and Alexander have stated what they want from Scott Baio is a public apology and healing.
Lisa Bloom stated that since they have brought their allegations to the police, it will be up to the District Attorney to decide whether to charge Scott Baio with a crime.
(Charisse Van Horn and Alexander Polinsky personally follow each other on Twitter and have spoken to each other in the past, but not about the Scott Baio case. She has also tweeted in the past messages of support for Nicole Eggert to come forward and tell her story. She does her best to be fair and balanced and present all sides of the case. Scott Baio denies all allegations of child abuse against him.)
