The animosity between Charles in Charge co-stars Nicole Eggert and Scott Baio reached a new level when over the weekend, Nicole Eggert called her former director a pedophile. Making the comment on Twitter, Eggert engaged in conversations with many of her supporters and detractors and warned people not to leave their children alone with the 57-year-old actor and charity founder.
The remarks quickly drew responses from not only Nicole Eggert’s followers but Scott Baio’s spokesperson Brian Glicklich. Glicklich was busy defending Baio over the weekend and announced that he’s sharing all tweets that harass his client with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
There is currently an investigation underway regarding allegations Nicole Eggert and actor and musician Alex Polinsky made when on February 6, 2018, they filed a police report against Baio. Baio has denied any and all allegations of sexual abuse, impropriety and child abuse and has threatened to sue Eggert, Polinsky and their attorney Lisa Bloom for defamation.
Nicole Eggert and Alexander Polinsky held a press conference on February 14, 2018, where they made their allegations against Baio known. Scott Baio immediately followed with a press conference of his own. He was unable to attend due to his daughter’s prior school engagement, but his spokesperson and attorney spoke on his behalf.
Nicole Eggert alleges that when she was 14-years-old Scott Baio began to sexually abuse her while she worked on the show.
Alexander Polinsky states that Scott Baio subjected him to mental torture and humiliation including multiple homophobic slurs because he walked in while Baio was molesting Eggert.
@scottbaio is a pedophile. I can say that first hand. Never leave your children alone with him. Ever.

The comment seemed to have a polarizing effect on social media. Some responded by saying they supported Nicole with her allegations and felt she was being harassed on social media.
Others took an opposing view and suggested that she was only saying that Scott Baio molested her when she was 14-years-old because she wants money or to be back in the spotlight.
Nicole Eggert has shared several stories about her teen years with Scott Baio and she has admitted to changing her story. She has stated that she felt shame and needed time to process her alleged relationship with Scott Baio before going public.
Scott Baio hasn’t responded to Nicole Eggert’s tweet other than his publicly released statement where he denied all the allegations.
What are your thoughts regarding the allegations made against Scott Baio? Do you believe them or do you think he’s being falsely accused?
(Charisse Van Horn and Alexander Polinsky personally follow each other on Twitter and have spoken to each other in the past, but not about the Scott Baio case. She has also tweeted in the past messages of support for Nicole Eggert to come forward and tell her story. She does her best to be fair and balanced and present all sides of the case. Scott Baio denies all allegations of child abuse against him.)
