We have learned that Nicki Minaj’s new album, which was supposed to drop on June 15 had to be pushed back no less than two months! That being said, it will now be released on August 10.
The rapper took to her social media platform of choice, Instagram, to announce her decision today.
She also explained during her Instagram live that she is skipping her guest appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show due to having the flu.
‘The album itself I think I want to put out on August 10. I want to put out my 2nd single, which I am really excited about, and I want to start an official countdown now,’ Nicki explained, adding that she wants to do things a bit differently this time around.
Minaj also tweeted the new album release date, but during her Instagram live video, she assured her loyal fans that she still has a number of surprises for them between June 11 and June 15.
Apparently, one of the surprises is the reveal of her album cover.
As for the female emcee’s tour, no changes have been made – it is still expected to begin in September.
While in attendance at the Met Gala this year, Nicki Minaj opened up about her album, briefly, telling ET that ‘[I have] a collab or two that I am excited about. I do feel like a queen.’
She was, of course, referring to the title of the highly-anticipated album – Queen.
Speaking of queens and Met Gala, while there, she reunited with fellow rapper Cardi B and it looked like the two finally put their feud behind them.
Are you disappointed you’ll have to wait two more months to listen to Nicki Minaj’s Queen album?
