Nick Young, the NBA star and former boyfriend of the Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea, found himself detained by the authorities after he resisted a command during a traffic stop. Initially, the police pulled him over on Hollywood Boulevard for a traffic violation, but then he “refused to comply with the basic commands of the officer.”
An official working with the LAPD told Us Weekly that he was taken into custody for resisting basic compliance tests – which “is a misdemeanor.” They also impounded his vehicle.
The 33-year-old Golden State Warriors player was taken into the station and was later released on $10,000 bond. Young is slated to go back to court on the 19th of September.
Previously, the star was at an EA Sports NBA Live 19 event, where he posted some Instagram videos from a dunking competition. The player also shared a video of him singing along to Wiz Khalifa’s song, “Hopeless Romantic,” shortly before his arrest.
As most fans of the former Laker know, he used to be engaged to Iggy but got his ex-girlfriend pregnant. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned – a saying that Nick undoubtedly came to be familiar with after it was revealed he had cheated.
Iggy, 27, lit his entire wardrobe on fire. The rapper admitted she torched his clothing during an appearence on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live!
She said, “I burned a lot and I threw stuff in the pool.” Nick had a daughter with his on-and-off girlfriend, Keonna Green, in October 2016, just four months after he and the “Mo’ Bounce” artist broke up for good.
Since then, both respective parties have moved on. In the past, Iggy said that Nick’s cheating scandal was devastating for her, and she took a brief hiatus to deal with the pain.
The rapper released a new record, but it didn’t do as well as she had hoped. Later, she was spotted with Tyga at a concert festival, sparking dating rumors.
