Netflix released the 10-episode German series Dark on December 1, 2017, and fans are saying their minds have been blown. Now demand for the second season is high as people are still trying to unravel the mysteries unleashed in Season 1. The series is in German so be prepared to read subtitles, but even those who don’t enjoy subtitled or captioned television are saying Dark is definitely worth it, as opposed to watching with the English dub. Many who have watched Dark Season 1 say it is the best thing they’ve ever seen on Netflix.
Typically when watching a series in a foreign language, you’ll find that you’ll obtain and comprehend more of the show when reading captioned subtitles instead of using the English dub. This is also common when the series is filmed in an unfamiliar environment.
Those watching Dark who do not speak German will find using the subtitles to be advantageous to the English dub that isn’t always in sync with the actors’ mouths.
If you decide to watch Dark on @netflix turn off the English dub and just set it to German with English subtitles, way better
