As you may already be aware, this early morning, famous rapper Nelly was arrested after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her while on his tour bus. Now, the star’s lawyer released an official statement that makes it very clear what stance he and his client are taking in the shocking case.
Scott Rosenblum slammed the alleged rape victim, saying that what the woman has claimed is nothing more than a ‘completely fabricated allegation!’
‘Nelly’s the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I’m confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation,’ Attorney Rosenblum stated.
According to the police forces dealing with the case, Kelly was arrested very early in the morning, on Saturday, October 7 when he was still on his tour bus.
An hour after he was taken into custody, the rapper was booked.
Just a few hours prior to the incident, Nelly had a concert in King County at the White River Amphitheater.
The Auburn Police Department is still thoroughly investigating the rape case.
Nelly is supposed to perform next tonight in Ridgefield, Washington but he might not get the chance to.
This is not the star’s first run-in with the law.
Back in 2015, Nelly was busted for possession of handguns, marijuana and even meth after a police search of his tour bus.
He was arrested but then released on bail.
