Naya Rivera managed to put a smile on her face following the charges against her for domestic battery. Rivera appeared to be unfazed on Saturday night when she went to the 2018 Winter Television Critics Association Press at The Langham Huntington in California.
The 31-year-old actress took center stage in a band t-shirt, black leather boots, and a miniskirt reminiscent of the 1980’s. She looked terrific for the event.
The Glee alum was at the event to promote her new YouTube video, Step Up: High Water. Not only did she pose on the red carpet, but she also had a brief Q & A with the director Adam Shankman and Holly Sorenson who created the show.
As you may know, this event was the first time she’s appeared in public following her arrest for hitting her husband on the 25th of November, 2017.
The exact details of the assault are not known, but she was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. The incident happened between Naya and her husband of three years, Ryan Dorsey.
Back in December of 2017, several publications confirmed that the actress had filed for divorce from Ryan due to irreconcilable differences.
The actress asked for joint legal and physical custody of their child, Josey. At the time of the charges, Big Sean took to Twitter to upload a GIF of a young girl repeatedly saying, “I told you so!”
Because of his cryptic tweet, many fans assumed that she and Sean had fought in the past, with Rivera being the particularly violent and aggressive one.
Shortly after the time of the incident between Rivera and Dorsey, the musician took to Twitter to ask for the respect and privacy of his family life. He said it “wasn’t some reality TV show,” it’s their lives.
