According to George Michael’s collaborator, Naughty Boy, there is a song that the legend recorded before his death that may be released to the public at some point. We do not doubt that his many fans are very excited to hear one last track from the singer that was taken from us way too early. I would definitely help people cope with the shocking news of his passing.
Naughty Boy revealed that he and Michael collaborated on the song in December of 2016, just a few weeks before Christmas day when the Wham! singer died unexpectedly in his own home.
The producer spoke to BBC Newsbeat recently and that is when he revealed the exciting news.
Naughty Boy stated that he “wouldn’t rule out” releasing the track, adding: “The song is amazing but it’s just a bit bittersweet.”
“It wasn’t this big music industry arrangement, I’ve just been a fan forever,” he explained. “I wanted to work with him, it was something I put out there.”
The producer recognized the fact that the many George Michael fans would be quite happy to hear one last new and original song from him, saying that “He’s got a lot of dedicated fans around the world. He was back in the studio, he was making an album – so hopefully the music will continue to live on and me being a part of it is just a part of my journey too.”
Although he tried to stay away from working on the song in the aftermath of Michael’s passing, recently, Naughty Boy is back to work, trying to refine the track and get it ready for released.
“I didn’t work on the song at the end of last year either out of respect. It’s only in the last week I started working on it again – we’ll just see how it goes.”
The autopsy on George Michael has turned out inconclusive. The police are still trying to figure out what caused the death of the 53 year old singer.
