Comedian Mohammed Amer boarded a flight for Scotland on Wednesday, when all of a sudden he got transferred to first class, sitting right beside none other than Eric Trump, Donald Trump’s son!
The comedian shared for Huffington Post that what he thought at that very moment was simply: “Are you f*cking kidding me?”
Amer also talked about the fact that another person on the plane seemed visibly annoyed that Eric was on the same plane and the woman even directly addressed the comedian, warning him about who he was about to sit next to.
“She looked at me and said, ‘I wouldn’t even sit next to him if I were you.'”
Mohammed, however, confessed that he was hopeful that some good material would come out of their interactions. After all, he came from Kuwait and is an immigrant so naturally, most of his jokes refer to his experience as a Muslim in America. And we all know Trump doesn’t like those.
“You don’t even know how fantastic this is for me. I’m a Muslim named Mohammed who happens to be a stand-up comedian, and I’m sitting next to you. It’s perfect.”
Furthermore, he told Eric that he refuses to take part in his father’s Muslim registry plan, saying: “I was like, ‘Yo, and I’m not doing that sh*t. I’m not going to get an ID, a Muslim ID and all this crap. I’m not doing that. F*ck that.'”
Apparently he won’t need to fight against the degrading act too much, as it seems that the president elect has no intentions of actually going through with it.
“He goes, ‘Come on, man you really think we’re going to do that? We’re not doing that.’ That’s what he said. ‘We’re not doing that.'”
As they were talking on the plane, Eric asked if comedians could maybe take it easy on his dad.
“That’s not gonna happen. We are not going to take it easy. It’s not our job to take it easy on you guys, “replied Amer.
He also added that Eric seemed “disconnected” from the hate crimes that his father’s supporters were responsible for.
“The vibe that I got was that it was all a game [to the Trumps]. This whole thing was a game. I don’t think there’s any regret about what they’re doing and what they had to do to win.”
Overall, the comedian was happy that they were able to have a decent, intelligent conversation on the delicate subjects.
“I just know we had a good, decent conversation, and I think that proves that we can talk to each other, and I think that’s what’s most important. We need to talk about these things intelligently and work through the problems and find the solutions.”
Mohammed also shared a selfie with Eric on Facebook, with the caption: “Hey guys heading to Scotland to start the U.K. Tour and I am “randomly” chosen to sit next to non other than Eric Trump. Good news guys Muslims will not have to check in and get IDs. That’s what I was told. I will be asking him a lot of questions on this trip to Glasgow, Scotland.
