Following a report that legendary actor, Morgan Freeman, sexually harassed eight women, the Hollywood entertainer came out and apologized for his supposed transgressions. The actor released a statement where he said anyone who knows him personally understands that he’s not the kind of person to try and hurt another.
According to CNN, who was the first to publish the allegations, eight women accused the Shawshank Redemption actor of “making suggestive comments” and “inappropriately touching” them.
CNN reports that a young woman working as a production assistant claimed Freeman would comment on her body every single day and “touch her lower back.”
And it all happened during the filming of the 2015 movie, “Going In Style.” Morgan supposedly tried “lifting” her skirt up and asking her if she even bothered to wear underwear.
The situation was awkward for everyone involved, but fortunately, her co-star, Alan Arkin, told him to stop. The woman claimed that Morgan “got freaked out” and didn’t even say anything because he was too perplexed.
Additionally, a woman who worked with him six years ago in 2012 while making the movie, “Now You See Me,” said the women on set knew not to wear revealing or fitted clothing around him because he would make comments.
In the same fashion, Chloe Melas, the article’s co-author, also accused Morgan of harassing her during a press release for the 2015 film, “Going In Style.” Morgan supposedly said to her, “You are ripe!” and also commented on the fact that she was pregnant.
The allegations against men in the industry are just a part of life in Hollywood now, as a good portion of the scene’s stars has been accused of some kind of crime. However, the most egregious include Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, both men who appear to be ex-communicated from the industry completely.
