As the Phat Girlz and Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins star twerked and did her version of Beyoncé’s signature booty shake and crawled on the floor while she was giving a speech where she explained: “Thank you today I am officially 50 years old. I take that back today I am 50 years young, and we have been working on this dance. We told y’all. This was the birthday dance I am 50 years old sugar, and when I woke up this morning, I had to start it off so if do you mind if I started off. But if do you mind if I started off, well that is your damn problem because it is my birthday today my sweet sisters being 50 years is amazing. If you are not there yet take your time, don’t be afraid to live and don’t be afraid to start it off.
If you are there, welcome, it is a beautiful place to be.”
The Precious actress went on to say in another post: “Ohhhhh baby. YOU WANNA BE STARTING SOMETHING. Sisters get started on being the best you, you can be. Whatever you do, don’t allow anyone or anything take away your right to LIVE AND BE HAPPY. Regardless of your circumstance or situation. Sisters, Y’all have heard it a million times before, TOUGH TIMES DONT LAST. TOUGH PEOPLE DO. SHOW YOU HOW TOUGH YOU ARE.TODAY IS THE DAY. 50 YEARS OLD. In an old interview, Mo’Nique spoke about her motivation by confessing: “The journey’s been amazing because it truly lets you know what you’re made of. People always say, ‘Mo’Nique, what motivates you?’ I had to do it for my husband and my children. And I had to get out of my own way.”
A fan wished Mo’ a happy birthday and called out Oprah and Tyler Perry for ruining her career.
