Beauty bombshell Ashley Graham has made a name for herself and carved out an entire niche around not being a size 2 or 4. She has brought so many insecure and unhappy women to a place where they can love and embrace their bodies because they see her doing so ferociously and being paid well for it.
Graham has broken the mode as one of the first plus-size models in the industry to get the amount of notoriety and success that she has obtained. She has walked several runways, been on the cover of magazines, launched clothing and lingerie lines and is even a published author.
Her latest gig is as a judge on the rebooted America’s Next Top Model alongside historic supermodel Tyra Banks, who has returned this season.
While many people feel tremendous anxiety and worry around their social media accounts, Graham says she actively tells herself those type of reactions just aren’t necessary. She approaches social media as a strategy and tells herself if it’s on her page, it’s her brand and what she wants to portray so who really cares what other people think?
Especially those who come to her page to comment without thinking clearly and intelligently about what they are saying, in other words: trolls.
Graham has had her fair share of those since the inception of her career. When she made Sports Illustrated, the hateful comments started by people who were incredibly critical of her weight and how her body looked.
They were downright vicious. Though some of those things are still said about her, she’s developed a thick skin and concentrates on the encouraging and supportive comments.
Those are the ones that keep her going and fuel her body inclusion campaigns that she has championed since the beginning.
The model makes sure to be her most authentic self at all times which means she’ll often post IG stories of her goofing around or birthday celebrations. She’s living her very best life and she won’t apologize that she’s not a size 6 or 8 while doing so.
The gorgeous beauty has already carved out a major place in the industry for herself and she’s not going anywhere.
