Miranda Lambert has been pretty quiet about her divorce with Blake Shelton – until now. One album and a few years after the divorce, Lambert is finally breaking her silence about how she really feels about her ex and his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani.
Lambert refused to talk about the divorce prior to the release of her latest album, The Weight of These Wings. Wanting her music to do the talking, Lambert avoided interviews like the plague, mostly because she knew people would ask about the breakup. She even hung up on one interviewer when she released the album because they asked about Shelton’s girlfriend. But now that the dust has settled around her music, Lambert is ready to talk about the breakup like never before.

According to Cosmopolitan, Lambert wanted to set the record straight about how she feels after her divorce with Shelton. The country star admitted that she is a flawed person and has made many mistakes in the past, including breaking a few hearts.
“I get divorced and get my heart broken. I break hearts,” Lambert shared in the interview. “I can’t do or be that anymore, or it’ll drive me crazy. I won’t be good anymore.”
Lambert added that she was worried when she released her latest album. The singer says that she was scared about letting the world know her true feelings and that the music felt different this time around. But after the record was released, Lambert felt relieved about it and felt like the music revealed her true feelings about the split.
Shelton and Lambert called it quits in 2015 after several years of marriage. Shelton started dating his Voice co-star shortly after the split, a move that reportedly devastated Lambert. In fact, sources claim that Lambert was forever scarred by the way Shelton and Stefani flaunted their romance on the show and in social media.
Things turned worse when Lambert was hit with the rumors that she cheated on Shelton with several different guys. With Shelton choosing not to defend Lambert in public, she was left on her own to deal with the damage control.
Luckily, Lambert was able to get past the divorce and used the heartbreak to inspire the tracks on her latest album. Now that she’s speaking out about the breakup, perhaps she’ll finally move on and find the love she deserves.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have not responded to Miranda Lambert’s recent comments about their relationship.
