It looks like actress Mila Kunis has perfected the art of a worthy cause via trolling. The current Vice President has been steadfast in his disagreement of women’s reproductive health rights and feels they should have limited access to birth control.
Along with this stance, he is also pro-life. He has voted to make it easier for organizations like Planned Parenthood to be defunded.
Kunis, and millions of other women, have a real problem with this outlook. The primary reason is that it isn’t given women autonomy and the right to their own bodies and to manage their health the way that they see fit.
So as a very overt ploy to get her point across, the Bad Moms star donates monthly to the organization under Mike Pence’s name. This wouldn’t, in itself, be that much of a blow to the politician if he didn’t also get a thank you card for the donation after every single one.
Kunis is not the only person who has admitted to doing this as a way to stick it to the politician and let him know loud and clear that a man deciding to remove access to safe and affordable reproductive health assistance is wrong. Kunis explained exactly why she continues to do this on a monthly basis:
“As a reminder that there are women out there in the world who may or may not agree with his platform, I put him on a list of recurring donations that are made in his name to Planned Parenthood. Every month, his office- he gets a little letter that says ‘an anonymous donation has been made in your name.”
Kunis wants to make sure that people don’t get the wrong idea about her reasoning for this. She says that she believes it is productive to resist and protest against things that are harmful to others.
She called it a “peaceful protest”, as she’s saying loud and clear that the way he is trying to control women’s reproductive rights is simply unjust and unfair and shouldn’t be a matter of bipartisan fodder.
