During an appearence on Good Morning America on Wednesday, Mike Myers sort of dropped a hint about an Austin Powers movie. The Austin Powers alum said, “I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of a movie like that, which exists or not exists.”
Mike said the whole statement with a smile and added that it was “looking good.” Myers explained it’s been a long time since an Austin Powers movie came out, as the last one was in the early 2000’s. It’s not because of a lack of passion for film, but rather a massive change in priorities.
Myers said he has “three kids now.” The legendary actor has Spike, Sunday, and Paulina, who are 6, 4, and 2, respectively, along with his wife, Kelly Tisdale.
As for what he’s been up to lately, Mike has done a lot of work, however, mostly in small parts and little tidbits so he can stay around his children. Fans will remember his short appearence in Inglorious Basterds in the early 2010’s.
According to Myers, he created a documentary about Shep Gordon, the former manager of Alice Cooper, called Supermensch. He also had a small part in Bohemian Rhapsody, and the film, Terminal, with Margot Robbie.
Mike first appeared on the screen as Austin Powers back in 1997, followed by its sequel two years later in 1999, and Goldmember along with Beyonce in 2002. His rise to prominence came in the early 1990’s on Saturday Night Live.
Unfortunately, Mike won’t be joined by the late Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me in all three of the movies. On Jimmy Kimmel Live! back on the 2nd of May, Mike said: “Verne was a fantastic human being.”
During his chat with the talk show host, he said Verne made the character what it was. He made it far more than as it was written.
