The former First Lady is once again encouraging everyone to go vote in the midterm elections on November 6. Michelle Obama made it very clear that she is sick and tired of the ‘chaos’ in Donald Trump’s America.
Yesterday, Michelle was in attendance at the Chaparral High School, and she took the stage to deliver an inspiring speech in front of three thousand people.
‘This is how democracy works. It is our children’s future, and voting still matters. And I am not the only one talking about this. My husband was looking forward to sitting back and kicking back and not having to do this again, but he is out there, talking about how voting matters, again,’ Michelle Obama told the men, women, and children cheering for her.
The woman made it very clear that the mission of ‘When We All Vote,’ an organization she co-chairs, is to get as many Americans to register to vote.
Michelle went on in her speech to explain why it is so important for people to not only have strong opinions on important topics such as taxes, the economy or healthcare but also exercise their rights and go vote.
‘The people who show up at the polls this November 6th, will decide what will happen on issues. Not voting’s like letting your grandma pick your clothes on election day. No offense to grandma, but how many people, especially those under 30, would let grandma decide what you wear at the club, or decide what car you drive. Not many would let someone who is not you make choices for you… what grandma thinks is good for you isn’t necessarily what is good for you,’ Michelle went on to say.
She added that ‘When you do not vote, you are letting other people make key decisions about the life you’re going to live… and you might not like what they decide. You may not like living with the consequences of other people’s choices, but that is what happens when you stay home, you are putting your future in the hands of others, and that may be exactly what they want.’
