Michael Douglas Gets Candid About Son’s Battle With Drug Abuse And Time In Prison

The actor got candid about his son’s struggle with substance abuse and getting in trouble with the law. As you may know, the last few years haven’t been the greatest for Cameron Douglas, the son of Michael Douglas.
The father was on Radio Times and told all about Cameron’s ‘very painful and difficult’ battles.
Back in 2010, the oldest of Michael’s children ended up behind bars for selling methamphetamines and possessing heroin after battling drug addiction for many years.
Cameron was released from prison in 2016, August, so precisely two years ago.
Fortunately, the actor revealed that his son is past all of that now.
‘My son’s struggle was a nightmare. It was very stressful for all involved, very painful and difficult. I am happy to say he is in wonderful shape now,’ Douglas shared.
It makes sense that he is over that bad time period in his life considering that since his release, he’s become a father to an adorable baby girl named Lua Izzy.
‘A lifetime of love and fulfillment awaits in utter totality,’ Cameron declared when his daughter was born.
Michael also gave the radio an update on the rest of his family, saying: ‘Catherine [Zeta-Jones, wife] is wonderful it’s a great time, Dylan is off to college next year, my oldest son is acting, he made me a grandfather, it’s great, I’m really happy about it.’
That sounds amazing! Thankfully, those dark times are all behind him and his family members.
Speaking of his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael often gushes over her, most recently telling E! News: ‘She’s branching out in a couple of other areas. She’s got a whole branding line of Casa Zeta-Jones, and she’s on QVC, and she’s an entrepreneur, and I totally support her.’
