Ever since Michael B Jordan did an interview in 2015 where he dished on his romantic life, rumors have circulated that he refuses to date African-American women. However, Jordan is addressing the controversy once and for all.
The “Black Panther” star, in an interview with Essence, said the allegations couldn’t be “further from the truth.” According to Michael, his mom and dad joked to each other on more than one occasion: “If only they knew,” his parents remarked.
And the fact that the rumors are so far away from being correct, is what stops him from freaking out about it. There isn’t even an inkling of truth to them, so these days, he’s just not worried.
According to Michael, for a good long while, he was, in fact, bothered by it, and would even think twice before being seen in public with another person.
But lately, for the most part, he’s learned to get over it. It’s something that barely bothers him anymore. “I’m finally starting to get to a place now where I don’t care,” the actor explained.
During his chat with reporters, Michael said he loves women of all types from all around the world. He said to question his love of black women, especially, is “preposterous.”
In 2015, Micahel said he can like whoever he wants and doesn’t have to date a black woman if he doesn’t want to. He said it’s not necessary to love another person from the same history or ethnic background; we don’t live in such a society anymore.
As it was previously reported, Tiffany Haddish was one of his possible suitors. During an interview with The Breakfast Club, the actress admitted she was crushing on the actor hard.
When Michael appeared on the same show not long after, he said her comments were simply funny. The actor, as well as the hosts, laughed at Tiffany’s over-the-top declarations of interest.
