Over the past seven years, the Brown family from TLC’s Sister Wives has been through their fair share of drama – including a divorce, a Catfishing scandal, and one of their kids coming out as a lesbian – with first wife, Meri Brown, being involved in all of it. Now, she has fans of the show wondering if she is ready to leave the family and move on to the next chapter in her life. Will she leave Las Vegas and focus on her new business in Utah?
Sister Wives follows the polygamous Brown family, husband Kody and his four wives Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, plus their 18 children, and has been on the air since 2010. The promos for the upcoming season show Kody and Meri’s sister wives looking concerned that she is abandoning the family for a new life in Utah to run her newly-opened bed and breakfast.
After everything that Meri has been through, it would make sense if she was ready to leave the show, but if her social media is any indication, she’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
She has posted a plethora of pictures with Kody, leading fans to believe that the two are still very much in love. The couple did divorce, but it was because he needed to legally marry Robyn, so he could adopt her kids from a previous marriage. Kody and Meri remain spiritually married, and he has stood by her side while she recently pursued her dream of opening her own little hotel.
Even though her passion project, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, is in Parowan, Utah, Meri continues to live in Las Vegas with the rest of the family. Parowan is about three hours away from Las Vegas, but she was adamant about purchasing that property because of the sentimental value. Meri’s great-grandmother grew up in the house, and she wanted to bring it back into the family.
Kody has been so supportive of her new business venture that he even bought her a couple of antique chairs for the inn, which she recently showed off on Instagram.
Meri did recently stir up rumors of a possible split when she posted a cryptic message on Twitter that read, “There comes a point when you have to realize that you’ll never be good enough for some people. The question is, is that your problem or theirs?”
Followers started asking Meri Brown if she felt she wasn’t good enough for Kody or the Brown family, but she quickly cleared up the confusion by saying that things were fine with her family, and if people don’t like you, it’s their problem.
Sister Wives airs Sunday nights on TLC.
