Multiple suspicious packages, some of them suspected bombs have been discovered all across the country.
According to a statement issued by the FBI, the dangerous packages were targeting numerous high-profile Democratic political figures including billionaire liberal donor George Soros, former President Barack Obama along with Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Outspoken California Rep. Maxine Waters who has been feuding with President Donald Trump and the controversial former Democratic National Committee chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz also received suspicious packages.
Threats have also been made at CNN’s Manhattan offices — Trump often bashes the news organization and dubbed it Fake News throughout his campaign and presidency.
In a statement, it was revealed that federal authorities are investigating the incidents and believe that the same people or person might be behind all the packages sent out throughout the week.
At the moment, the pipe bombs are at the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, Virginia where experts will analyze them to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators involved.
The Donald reacted to the disturbing events by saying: “The safety of the American people is my highest and absolute priority…The full weight of our government is being deployed to conduct this investigation and bring those responsible for these despicable acts to justice. We will spare no resources or expense in this effort. And I just want to tell you that in these times we have to unify. We have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in I United States of America.”
Ivanka Trump also condemned the attacks by writing: “I strongly condemn the attempted acts of violence against President Obama, the Clinton family, @CNN & others. There is no excuse—America is better than this.”
The Republican’s wife, Melania Trump, echoed the president’s message of unity by saying: “I want to take a moment to talk about today’s news and the attempted attacks on President Clinton, President Obama, their families, public officials, individual and organizations. We cannot tolerate those cowardly attacks and I strongly condemn all who choose violence. I’m grateful to the Secret Service as well as the federal and local law enforcement for all they do on a daily basis to keep us safe and encourage people across the country to choose kindness over hatred.”
So much for unity, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was quick to suggest that Democrats are behind the packages.
Rush claimed: “Republicans just don’t do this kind of thing, even though every event like mass shootings, remember, every mass shooting there is Democrats and the media try to make everybody think right off the bat that some Tea Partier did it, or some talk radio fan did it, or some Fox News viewer did it — turns out it’s never, ever the case.”
Many Americans have taken to social media to point the finger at politicians on both sides of the aisle for the divisive language in Washington.
