Donald Trump, who is often up in the wee hours of the night tweeting, recently shared a post where he misspelled his own wife’s name.
The Donald confused First Lady Melania Trump for Melanie.
The controversial Republican shared a post about Melania being released from the hospital and made this typo: “Great to have our incredible First Lady back home in the White House. Melanie is feeling and doing really well. Thank you for all of your prayers and best wishes!”
POTUS rapidly corrected Melania’s name, but it was too late — it was trending on Twitter for hours, and he was mocked relentlessly for his epic fail.
According to reports, Melania was not angry about the slip-up.
A White House insider told Hollywood Life: “Melania thought it was quick hilarious that everybody was making such a huge thing out of what was obviously a phone-generated autocorrect of her name. Donald was furious though, and he thinks it’s just more evidence of the “witch hunt” against him, and how people are constantly attacking him over nothing.”
The source went on to say that Melania feels all the bad press he has been getting since becoming president is not good for his health.
The friend shared: “Melania worries that it’s all going to have a negative effect on Donald’s health, but he just can’t step away from Twitter. It’s like a total addiction, and he can’t fathom how people can be so disrespectful and ungrateful to the President of the United States.”
In an official statement from the White House, it was revealed that Melania is indeed back in Washington D.C. recuperating after having undergone treatment for what was described as a “benign kidney infection” at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland last week.
The statement read: “The First Lady returned home to the White House this morning. She is resting comfortably and remains in high spirits. Our office has received thousands of calls and emails wishing Mrs. Trump well, and we thank everyone who has taken the time to reach out.”
Many say this is not the first time the Donald has misspelled a word and it will not be the last.
