The designer for Melania Trump’s inauguration dress has been revealed – well – according to reports, Mrs. Trump has worked with two designers – Ralph Lauren and Karl Lagerfeld – for the big day on January 20. It is not like the pair will collaborate on one gown – such a thing would never happen in the fashion world. It is believed that American designer Ralph Lauren will be the one to create a simple yet elegant dress that Mrs. Trump will wear when her husband is being sworn in.
The European fashion icon has created a masterpiece for the Slovenian beauty to take part in the inaugural balls with Mr. Trump. The wife and husband have selected Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” as their first dance as president and first lady at the Liberty Ball. Sinatra’s daughter, Nancy, has already slammed the real estate mogul for the song choice.
The selection of Ralph Lauren is not at all surprising because during the election season the mother of one was seen several times in tops and pants from the famous designer. On election night, she wore a one-of-a-kind white jumpsuit that was designed by Ralph Lauren. While Mr. Lauren himself has never spoken for or against Trump he has been one of the only designers willing to dress Mrs. Trump.
It is worth noting that Hillary Clinton wore Ralph Lauren during the election season. As for Karl Lagerfeld, it is a well-known fact that he loves controversy and drama and all these words rhyme with the name Trump.
Karl Lagerfeld designs both for Fendi and Chanel – it has not been revealed which label Mrs. Trump will be wearing. What is clear, during her husband’s presidency Mrs. Trump will never be seen in Tom Ford.
Mr. Ford recently slammed the former model by saying that she can not afford to wear his designs. He explained: “Whoever is the president, or the first lady, should be wearing clothes at a price point that are accessible to most Americans, and wearing clothes made in America. My clothes are made in Italy, they’re very, very expensive. I don’t think most women or men in our country can relate to that, and I think the first lady or the president should represent all people.”
Ford added: “If you watch that show where I said it, I said I would not have dressed Hillary had she become President.”
Donald Trump was on Fox News today where he bashed Ford: “[She] never asked Tom Ford, doesn’t like Tom Ford, doesn’t like his designs. I’m not a fan of Tom Ford, never have been.”
There you have it; Trump hates Ford and Ford despises Trump.
