It has only been a couple of days since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, and the baby rumors are already flying. Will the couple’s spring wedding feature a pregnant bride?
In Touch Weekly is reporting that the couple fast-tracked their wedding because Markle is expecting. Their insider claims that the couple wanted to have kids as soon as possible, but they weren’t expecting it to happen so quickly. However, the source makes it clear that they do want the baby and it is a dream come true.
His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle are engaged to be married. The Prince of Wales made this announcement this morning: His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle. The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty, The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
During their first post-engagement interview, the subject of kids did come up. The interviewer asked them if they had talked about starting a family, and a visibly nervous Harry replied that they would take things one step at a time, but hopefully, it will happen in the near future.
The In Touch article also claims that the white coat Meghan Markle wore to the engagement photo call at Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden was an attempt to cover her growing baby bump. Their source says that she wore high heels and had bare legs in an attempt to distract from her tummy.
Markle has also allegedly been wearing loose-fitting clothes and avoiding alcohol. She also recently opted for a facial instead of a massage, with British facialist Sarah Chapman noting moms-to-be can’t get a massage during the first trimester.
Life & Style reports that in the royal family, having a baby before getting married is a no-no, but Harry doesn’t care about protocol.
So how much of all this is actually true? According to Gossip Cop, none of it. The rumor-debunking website makes it clear that Markle is not pregnant, and tears the In Touch article apart line by line.
The tabloid’s assertion that the “near future” Harry talked about in his post-engagement interview was nearer than anyone realizes is completely false.
Gossip Cop also points out that the magazine’s claim that the couple is fast-tracking their wedding for the spring because Meghan Markle doesn’t want to look like a pregnant bride makes no sense; because if she was trying to conceal a baby bump now, by April or May her belly would be impossible to hide.
