Another day, another drama involving Megyn Kelly and her colleagues on NBC.
The latest rumors claim that Savannah Guthrie recently threw a lavish book party for the Princesses Wear Pants and all the co-hosts of TODAY were there to show her some love.
According to partygoers, Matt Lauer, Al Roker, and Hoda Kotb were all present to compliment Guthrie on her success.
However, to everyone’s surprise, Kelly, the newest member of the Peacock Network’s morning lineup was a no-show.
The insider told Radar Online that the former Fox News Channel anchor was invited to the gathering but opted not to come.
The person in the know told the publication: “Last night was Savannah Guthrie’s book party. Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Hoda Kotb — the entire family was there, except Miss Kelly! She was invited, but she was a no-show. Savannah and Matt not only took time to tape pieces welcoming her to the family, but they also walked across the street and welcomed her live on her set on Monday! Kelly just doesn’t care!”
The tipster went on to say that the former attorney was wrong to skip the party because Guthrie collaborated with Allison Oppenheim for the book.
Allison is the wife of Noah Oppenheim — television producer and President of NBC News.
The insider claimed: “Savannah wrote the book with big NBC boss Noah Oppenheimer’s wife. It is stupid to snub Savannah, but it is crazy to piss off the boss’s wife! She is making no friends at 30 Rock!.These guys support each other on air and off!”
While at the soirée, Guthrie explained why she and Oppenheim decided to write the book.
She said: “I was just sitting talking to my friend Allison about how our little girls were in the princess phase and we wondered where did that come from and why are they so into it. But we wanted them to talk about what it means to be a young girl in a leadership role. So the pants are just a way to talk about how to get things done.”
She went on to say: “It is not that we are anti-princess, we just want every young women to be anything she wants to be — especially a girl of substance.”
The snub came just days after Guthrie defended Kelly who received a significant backlash for asking 79-year-old actress Jane Fonda about plastic surgery and embarrassing Will & Grace star Debra Messing with some rather bizarre questions about the gay characters on the show.
