Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they were expecting their first child, there has been a ton of speculation about when the baby is due. And this week, Royal watchers noticed the Duchess of Sussex was wearing some new jewelry and thought it could be a hint at her due date. Could Markle’s new rings be proof that she is having an April baby?
According to The Daily Mail, Markle attended an Invictus Games event last Saturday in Sydney and wore three new rings from Canadian brand Ecksand. Fans theorized that the green stone represented her August birthday, and the blue sapphire represented Harry’s September birthday. And, they believe that the diamond in the third ring could be a sign the baby will be born in April because a diamond is the April birthstone.

This theory comes after a recent report claimed Markle is actually four months pregnant, instead of the 12 weeks that was previously reported. After meeting with the Duchess in Sydney, Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins suggested that the mom-to-be is four months along.
“I’m hoping Meghan’s stacked rings represent their birthstones and Baby Sussex is an April baby,” wrote royal fan @DuchyofSucess on Instagram. “Meghan’s birthstone- green peridot. Baby Sussex birthstone-diamond. Harry’s birthstone- blue sapphire.”

The green stone ring the Duchess wore is actually Ecksand’s emerald stackable ring, and those actually represent the month of May. However, the brand — which specializes in ethically sourced jewelry — does not stock Meghan’s birthstone, the rare green peridot.
The other rings Markle wore were the Sapphire Showcase Stackable and the Showcase Diamond Marquise Stackable.
Many fans are believers in the diamond birthstone theory and think that it is a cute tribute to Baby Sussex if it turns out to be true.
If Markle is about 17 to 18 weeks along, that would put her due date at the beginning of April. When Kensington Palace made the pregnancy announcement, they simply said that Markle was due “in the spring,” but didn’t give a specific due date.
Prince Harry and his wife are currently on a tour of Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand, and the couple had a security scare while in a Fiji market earlier this week. Bodyguards whisked Markle out of a busy marketplace in Suva, Fiji’s capital, and Prince Harry wants an explanation over what happened.
Palace officials are blaming large crowds for cutting short Meghan Markle’s visit with female staffers of the UN Women’s project Markets for Change.
