Finally, we have learned why some royal wedding guests were giggling during the ceremony, especially while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry said their ‘I will.’ The Suits star’s close pal, actress Janina Gavankar explains what happened last weekend.
Millions of people watched the wedding from home and curiously enough, during the most important part of the wedding, they were able to hear giggles coming from the crowd and even from the couple!
Since then, we have been wondering what caused the lighthearted reaction.
Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who officiated at the wedding asked: ‘Harry, will you take Meghan to be your wife? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and protect her, and, forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?’
‘I will,’ the Prince replied as some of the guests watching the pair tie the knot giggled and smiled.
When Meghan also answered affirmatively, the crowd reacted very similarly.

During an interview with Town & Country, Gavankar finally revealed what took place.
‘One thing that made many of us giggle was that we could hear the wonderful people outside. When the vows were happening, they’d cheer, and we could hear them. It was a quiet chapel. We followed the Queen’s lead. But we could hear everybody cheer, and it was really heartwarming. Really, it filled our hearts,’ she explained.
In addition, the actress also stated that despite the reported three billion people tuning in to the wedding on TV, it felt like a small ceremony given the fact that only 600 guests were seated inside the chapel.
‘If you were in the chapel, it felt like a pretty small wedding because we did not see Meghan’s massive walk up the church aisle that preceded the [quire]. It felt like we were right there with her, with both of them. But we could hear everyone cheer, and it was heartwarming. Really, it filled our hearts,’ she added for the publication.’ Mystery solved!
