Drama and more drama for Meghan Markle who is set to marry Prince Harry in a few days.
A few minutes ago, news broke that the actress’ father, Thomas Markle, will not be attending the royal wedding that will take place this Saturday.
It was revealed that about a week ago Meghan’s father suffered a heart attack and TMZ confirmed that he is back in the hospital after feeling chest pain.
He spoke to TMZ and revealed that his daughter stopped talking to him since he spilled the tea about not going to the wedding and not being able to give her away.
Thomas revealed that Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, will take over his spot and walk their daughter down the aisle.
He also said he feels terrible for staging photos for a hefty payday just days before the wedding.
The Palace has released a statement on the bizarre situation: “This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding. She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”
A source close to the former Hollywood rising star explained: “Meghan feels embarrassed and disappointed over her father’s involvement with the staged photos. She is sad and confused as to why her father would do such a thing. Meghan wishes her dad had talked to her about it first so she could have helped him avoid this mess.”
The insider added: “Meghan is also sad that her father may miss the wedding entirely. It won’t be the same fairytale wedding for her without her father walking her down the aisle. Meghan is heartbroken over the last minute change in wedding plans, and she and Harry are discussing if her mother, or who else, will be the best replacement for her father to escort her down the aisle. Prince Harry is “really loving, supportive and understanding of the situation. He wants his bride to enjoy the happiest day of her life, and he is doing his best to keep her focused on all the good things happening instead of worrying about her father.”
There is a lot of drama around the wedding of the century.
