The new royal’s family members continue to be very open and public about their feud. Meghan Markle’s brother is the latest of Meghan Markle’s relatives to talk about her and the blue-blooded family.
Thomas Markle Jr. gave an interview to Daily Mail, sharing his own perspective on the lack of a good relationship with the Duchess.
He also made sure to talk about the one drama that made the most headlines, the one with their dad, Thomas Markle.
‘No father daughter relationship should be like this. I really feel for him because of how strong their relationship used to be and what it has become now. That has got to hurt anybody. It is not the Meghan I remember. The Meg I remember was caring and she cared about everyone—that was important to her,’ he told the outlet.
‘Since Hollywood and being on that show—being a celeb has changed her. Maybe she feels she’s above everybody, maybe even more now. But if she was not with Prince Harry right now—even if she was still on Suits —she would’ve stopped what she was doing to go and visit him and make sure he is ok,’ he added.
The bad relationship started when Thomas Markle was unable to attend his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry due to his health issues.
Since then, things have started to deteriorate, and he has been talking to the press, pleading with Meghan to talk to him.
Meghan’s sibling thinks she did not handle things correctly from the start.
‘I think it got swept under the rug for so long, it is a shame where it has ended up, especially between her and my father. If she wants to make amends, by all means, she can totally do that. But she’s got to want to do it.’
He also believes Kensington Palace did not get as involved as they should have as soon as the engagement was announced.
‘They have dealt with this sort of stuff for a long time, and why they did it this way, that is the big question. They could’ve looked after my dad, and he would’ve been happy,’ Thomas Jr. dished.
He went on to say that ‘I do not think he deserves that kind of treatment from her. I think she owes him as his daughter to support him the way he supported her. […] like she does not want to deal with him for what reasons I don’t know.’
