Their mother-daughter bond is unbreakable! It is safe to say that Meghan Markle and her mother Doria Ragland are super close and care about one another more than they do about anyone else.
Now that Meghan has just married her dream man, Prince Harry, a blog post from The Tig from back in 2014 has resurfaced.
At the time, Markle gushed about her mother, expressing her deepest admiration and appreciation towards her life-giver, friend, and role model.
‘She will swivel her hips into the sweetest little dance you have ever seen, swaying her head, snapping her fingers to the beat like she has been dancing since the womb. And you will smile. You will not be able to help it. You will look at her and you’ll feel joy. I am talking about my mom,’ Meghan wrote in her blog post.
But she also admitted that growing up, she thought some parts of her mom were annoying.
However, as she grew up, she started understanding how much she has done for her and actually appreciated it.
‘I get all of it. The curfews that were prefaced with ‘I want you home by that time, Flower, not because I am worried about what you’ll do, but because I am worried about what everybody else out there is up to.’ The jogs in our neighborhood and bike rides together to the La Brea Tar Pits after school. The time I spent in the kitchen, helping her prep dinner, carefully tossing fresh herbs into the salad, and knowing when the shrimp in the gumbo was juuust right. I did not get it then. But I get it now,’ Meghan went on.
‘She was keeping me safe. She was teaching me how to take care of my body. She was introducing me to history and fostering a love of being outdoors. She was planting the seed for me to become a foodie. She was showing me how to be a daughter, not just in that moment, but for when I became that grown woman. For right now. And thirty years from now. She was loving me. So tightly,’ Meghan concluded her sweet tribute to her mother.
