Becoming a royal does not mean you must stop supporting your friends. Rumors have been circling for weeks that the new Duchess of Sussex would attend Wimbledon to cheer on her good friend, tennis legend Serena Williams.
It has recently been confirmed that she will be in attendance to root for her friend and she’ll be joined by her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

Williams and Markle have been friends for years and Williams even got an invite to the Royal wedding.
Despite rumors that Williams played beer pong at the reception, the tennis great completely laughed off those claims. In fact, she doesn’t know where they came from as she doesn’t even drink beer.
It isn’t just a leisurely visit for Markle and Middleton as they are set to actually meet with several former champions and speak with some ball boys and girls during their visit.
Markle has also been seen with Williams recently when she attended a polo match that Harry was playing in Ascot, England just a couple of weeks ago.
When Williams married her husband, Alexis Ohanian, many questioned why Markle wasn’t in attendance, despite the fact that the guest list was star-studded and impressive with guests like Beyonce, Ciara, and Kim Kardashian.
Despite Markle not coming to William’s wedding, Williams didn’t miss hers and now Markle is showing up for her friend to cheer her on in her tennis playing comeback.
Williams explained that Markle’s come to support her during Wimbledon over the past couple of years and now, her role and position has changed, but that their friendship remains very much the same.
This is her first finals appearance since giving birth to her daughter, Olympia.
The finals match will be held on Saturday, July 14th, where Williams will compete against Angelique Kerber for her 24th Grand Slam singles title.
