Bride-to-be Meghan Markle just spent Christmas with her fiancé and future in-laws, but they have yet to meet her father, Thomas Markle. The Suits actress is hoping that will soon change because she wants him to be involved in her royal wedding and walk her down the aisle. Will he come out of hiding and grant his daughter’s wish?
Closer Weekly reports that the Emmy-winning lighting director has retired to a quiet life in Mexico, and the palace has not yet confirmed that he will attend the May ceremony.
“Everyone has problems and faults, but Meghan doesn’t love him any less,” says a friend who spoke to Life & Style. “She’s told Harry that she wants her dad to walk her down the aisle. Harry is totally supportive and will go along with whatever Meghan wants, even if the palace might not like it.”
Despite his previous Hollywood career and lifestyle, Thomas has faced some problems recently, including a 2016 bankruptcy and four tax liens in the past 19 years. He has also been married and divorced twice. Shortly after announcing their engagement, Markle revealed that Harry hasn’t yet met her 73-year-old dad, but he has talked to him a few times.

Another person the couple reportedly wants at their wedding is former President Barack Obama, but according to Newsweek, that may not happen thanks to President Trump.
Apparently, it would be quite offensive for a former President to get an invite instead of the current one; plus, Trump hasn’t had the chance to meet the Queen yet.
British government officials are nervous that snubbing Trump could make it difficult for him and Prime Minister Theresa May to connect. She has invited him to Great Britain to meet with her and the Queen, but they have yet to set a date for the visit.
The Telegraph reports that they canceled a “working visit” set for January after Mr. Trump criticized the U.K.’s response to terror attacks and London’s Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan on Twitter.
The prince and Obama became friends after Harry invited the former President to the Invictus Games this past September. Cameras caught the two talking and laughing together. However, British government officials may put their foot down and not allow him to invite Obama to the wedding.
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle's engagement photographs. The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives. As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you.
The ceremony will take place on May 19th at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Fox News reports that the Saturday date is unusual, with most British weddings taking place during the week.
The historic chapel is located west of London and is more intimate than Westminster Abbey. Windsor Castle is one of Queen Elizabeth’s main residences and holds a central place in royal history.
Since announcing her engagement, Meghan Markle has been spending time with the royal family.
