The baby rumors continue to fly around Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The newlyweds are preparing to move into their new home at Windsor Castle, and some of the renovations are making people think they are going to be parents very soon.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are turning Adelaide Cottage into their dream home, and it includes two nurseries.
“Harry and Meghan both feel Adelaide Cottage is the perfect place for them to raise a family together,” says an insider. “But given that they’re rushing to make room for a baby, palace insiders are whispering that they could be expecting already!”
"Meghan and I are incredibly excited to meet so many of you representing the future of the Commonwealth." — The #CommonwealthYouth Forum is giving the young people of the Commonwealth a voice in its future; The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met some of its young leaders to see how @commonwealth_sec is helping them make their ideas a reality.
Ever since the couple announced their engagement back in November, they have talked about their desire to have kids. Prince Harry said that he “would love to be a dad,” and Markle admitted that it was her “dream to start a family.”
With the cottage’s location being on the grounds of Windsor Castle — which is where Harry and Meghan got married back in May — it holds a special place in their heart. It is just a few miles from St. George’s Chapel, and the former Suits actress fell in love with the area while preparing for her wedding.
They won’t be too far from Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are their current neighbors at Kensington Palace, but both Harry and Meghan like the idea of having some space to themselves says an insider.
The Duke and Duchess have spent around $1.5 million on renovations, which means they are doing a lot more than just adding a couple of nurseries. Sources say that Markle is putting “her own spin on the place,” plus they are installing state of the art security and a panic room to make sure their future family is safe.
There is also space for visiting family and friends, including Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland. Sources say that Markle wants her mom has a room of her own. And, with the adjustment to royal life being a difficult one for the 37-year-old, having a home that she and Harry can call their own is helping her feel settled.
Insiders say that the Queen couldn’t have given the couple a better gift.
If Harry and Meghan are already expecting their first child, there will be one American tradition that Markle won’t be a part of — a baby shower. It is unlikely that the former actress would have an expensive party since the Royals are already extremely wealthy. And, baby showers are very much an American thing, but expectant moms in the UK don’t have them.
Other royal traditions for expectant moms in the family include not finding out the baby’s gender until they are born and giving birth at home. However, that last one has changed thanks to Princess Diana. Ever since she gave birth to Prince William in the private Lindo wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, most royal births have taken place outside of the castle.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not commented on the pregnancy rumors, although they have both been open about their desire to have a family.
