Meghan Markle “Politely” Refuses To Attend Emmy Awards

According to a report from The Sun, Meghan Markle refused her invitation to the 2018 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. Sources said to the publication that Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, were invited to attend the ceremony in Hollywood as “special guests.”
An insider who spoke with the outlet claims that NBC offered Meghan and Prince Harry a spot at the Emmy’s so she could hang out with her friends in show business and even present an honor.
The insider claims that the Emmy’s said they would’ve hoped Meghan would use the final chance to say goodbye to many of the people she has gotten to know over the years.
However, an additional source had a different story: “Meghan and Harry know that she only received an invitation because it’s good for Emmy ratings, which haven’t been the greatest in the last 2 or 3 years. Yeah, sure, she had Suits, but other than that, their invitation was mostly for self-promotion.”
Shortly before the announcement of the nominees for this year’s Emmy Awards, a representative for USA Network claimed that Meghan was in talks for receiving an Emmy for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.”
Throughout Meghan’s time in television, she hasn’t won any awards and hasn’t been nominated for an Emmy either. In 2017, Markle confirmed that she wouldn’t be coming back for the eighth season of Suits.
Analysts who spoke with Fox News claimed they had expected Meghan to follow in the footsteps of Grace Kelly, who left her career in Hollywood to become the Princess of Monaco.
Another expert, Grant Harrold, who specializes in etiquette, said that Meghan and Harry will, both, be too busy with their royal duties. Grant said that royal activities take up a lot of time, especially when it comes to traveling overseas.
In addition to working as a British royal, Meghan recently celebrated her 37th birthday. Meghan and Harry celebrated her birthday in the English countryside this past weekend.
