Meghan King Edmonds shocked fans this week when she announced on her blog that she was leaving Real Housewives of Orange County after three seasons. However, inside sources say that Edmonds didn’t quit the Bravo show, but instead, producers fired her because she was using her pregnancy as leverage for more money. So now the question is, who is to blame for Edmonds’ sudden exit?
Edmonds – who is currently expecting twin boys – tried to use her pregnancy to get an extended contract and pay raise, but producers weren’t having it.
“She did the same thing with her first pregnancy and it worked. But producers weren’t biting this time around. They felt that she didn’t bring anything to the table and everyone was sick of her manufactured fake drama!” claimed an insider.
During her time on the show, cameras captured Edmonds’ struggle with IVF treatments and her eventual pregnancy with baby Aspen, 1. During last season’s reunion show, she revealed that she was pregnant again, and soon after announced that she was expecting twins.
Edmonds says that the challenge of doing the show while taking care of a young child and being pregnant was her reason for leaving. She explained that she was hormonal and tired during her first pregnancy and filming was difficult.
She went on to write that her second pregnancy was a sign that it was time for her to “hang up her OC housewife hat.” Edmonds was only five weeks pregnant at the reunion and she says she was already exhausted, so filming another pregnancy would be next to impossible.
Edmonds claims that the show takes a massive emotional toll and filming can be grueling. However, she says she now has soul sisters in Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador and she will never lose that.
But, according to the insider, Edmonds long statement about her departure from the show is just further proof that producers fired her. The source says that she wouldn’t have taken the time to write so much on her blog, she would have just quit. But, instead, she is pretending not to care and putting the blame on others and not herself.
Now that she will no longer be a part of the Real Housewives of Orange County, Edmonds will move to St. Louis with her husband, former St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Jim Edmonds, so they can settle down and raise their family.
She will also be dedicating time to K Hall Studio, their home fragrance business, and her candle collection, the King Collection.
Meghan King Edmonds finished her blog post by saying that it is finally time for her become an actual housewife, “Oh the irony!” she concluded.
Season 13 of the Real Housewives of Orange County will premiere in 2018.
