After staying relatively out of the spotlight in recent years, Megan Fox has returned to appear on the cover of UK Cosmopolitan. The actress used to be as famous and appreciated in the film industry as one can get, but a low point in her career came back in 2009 when Michael Bay fired her from Transformers 3 just because he wanted ‘to be like Hitler on his sets.’
In 2012, Bay opened up about the unceremonious axing, claiming that Steven Spielberg told him to do it after hearing that Hitler comment.
However, Spielberg denied his claim.
Fox admits that at the time she did not have the maturity to deal with losing her job the way she should have and instead, thought of herself as a victim.
‘That was absolutely the low point of my career. But without ‘that thing’, I would not have learned as quickly as I did. All I had to was apologize, and I refused. I was so self-righteous at 23, I could not see it was for the greater good. It hurt me and a lot of other people. However, that darkness that descended caused enormous and brisk spiritual growth. Once I realized I brought it on myself, it was an invaluable learning experience, looking back on it,’ the actress revealed.
Ever since then, Fox has been enjoying her life away from the spotlight and is now focusing on her relationship with Beverly Hills 90210 star Brian Austin Green and parenting her three children: Journey, Noah, and Bodhi.
