Floyd Mayweather is a genuine money making machine! The 39-year-old champ has renewed his conditions to fight MMA superstar Conor McGregor and is now asking $100 million for the epic battle to take place.
While his old time opponent, Manny Pacquiao, is apparently preparing a fight against a teacher, Jeff Horn, in order to defend his WBO belt, during an event taking place in Brisbane, in April, Floyd Mayweather is negotiating the terms of a fight that could change everything in the boxing world. A mismatch, but one that everybody is so eager to see! And definitely a fight that guarantees tons of money.
However, the problem is that Floyd wants a huge sum ($100 million!!!), while Conor will be left with crumbs (about $15 million). Still, it would be the biggest pay McGregor has ever received in his career! On the other side, the Irish demands about $30 million, so there’s no doubt that the talks won’t end here.
In recent interviews, Mayweather said that he wants the deal done and he’s looking forward to the fight. Also, this encounter will take place only if his demands are met! After all, Floyd claims that he’s a businessman and for him, money is everything that matters!
If the Mayweather – McGregor fight is going to take place, it means that a possible rematch with Manny Pacquiao is surely off the table. The two boxers shared a $340 million pay (60/40) in May 2015, in the richest fight of all time. After the victory against the Filipino, Mayweather also won the match against Andre Berto and ended his career undefeated, 49-0, tied with Rocky Marciano.
It’s interesting to see if Mayweather has one more fight in him, considering the fact that he’ll be 40 next month. But after all, the money, the fame and the buzz surrounding the event it’s what motivated Floyd all his career.
