NBC fired Matt Lauer over a bunch of allegations of horrendous sexual misconduct and harassment. Now it seems like the network is reportedly doing its best to purge the disgraced news anchor from its building.
A source told Page Six that ‘Matt’s office is being completely demolished. Everything is going, including that button under his desk, his nameplate, the photos of him in the hallways, the pictures of him online and on NBC News social media.’
‘[NBC is] so sickened by his behavior it is almost like they want to pretend he never existed,’ the insider added.
Do you know about the button on Matt’s desk? If you don’t, we’ll tell you about it.
That button was one of the most horrible details about Matt’s sexcapades at NBC, as it allowed him to lock his office door automatically from his desk.
The button ‘enabled him to welcome female employees and initiate inappropriate contact while knowing nobody could walk in on him, according to two women who were sexually harassed by Lauer,’ Variety stated in its extensive report.
Matt allegedly summoned a woman in his office, and he reportedly dropped his pants to show his penis,
When and when the employee declined to do anything, he allegedly reprimanded her for ‘not engaging in a sexual act.’
Matt was also accused of bringing another woman to his office where he allegedly had sex with her, and she passed out.
Washington Post reported that this locking button was a standard feature in many older officers at 30 Rock.
The feature was famous among top executives who wanted privacy for personal phone calls, or who used it as an added security measure in the event of a potential calamity.
‘Apparently, Matt was one of the few, if not the only, NBC News employee to have one,’ an anonymous NBC News employee confessed to the Washington Post. Matt Lauer’s wife Annette Roque has reportedly left their home in the Hamptons with the kids.
