Addie Collins Zinone has claimed that it’s still not easy to open up about her affair with Matt Lauer from 2000 as she wouldn’t want to cause even more pain to the disgraced former TODAY host’s wife Annette Roque. The now 41-year-old former production assistant sat down with Megyn Kelly to tell all about her past involvement with Lauer.
But while it was finally her time to tell all, she revealed that it was incredibly hard to talk about what happened 17 years ago as she didn’t want to hurt Annette further.
‘It is a massive mistake, and I understand I made it, and I know who I am at my core and the values I have, but of course, you carry the shame. He has a wife. Even now, I do not want to pour salt on her wounds, and that is a scary thing that you carry that your whole life. You’re thinking…Why couldn’t I get out of it? Why did I do that?’ she shared.

Addie went on to say that it’s been very difficult for her as well lately as her family is ‘shattered by this.’
But the woman explained that for her it was really important to talk about what happened and even try to get Matt to finally see her as an actual person.
It sounds like it was the only way Addie could properly cope with what happened and finally move on.
As you may remember, after an anonymous woman accused Matt of sexual harassment, he was fired from Today.
Shortly after, several other unnamed women shared their stories as well.
That being said, Addie told Megyn Kelly that one of the main reasons she wanted to come forward about what happened was to ‘put a face to these women’s accusations.’
