Matt Lauer is doing everything in his power to make his estranged wife, Annette Roque, happy. The former Today host is reportedly willing to pay Roque millions to settle their divorce – but only because he regrets cheating on her with a slew of different women over the years.
Sources close to Lauer say that he is willing to fork out $20 million to end divorce talks and make Roque happy. Lauer was fired from his post at NBC’s Today show after multiple women came forward and accused him of sexual misconduct. His marriage with Roque felt apart amid the scandal and the two have yet to finalize the split.

Lauer and Roque are fortunately on good terms despite everything they’ve gone through over the past six months. According to Page Six, Lauer and Roque are still living together in their massive Hamptons mansion and are close to finalizing the divorce. This is good news for Lauer, who wants nothing more than to move on and start repairing his public image.
“Things really have settled down,” an insider explained. “Matt and Annette are getting on and they’re both spending time with their kids. They hope to settle the divorce very soon.”
Lauer originally purchased his mansion in the Hamptons from actor Richard Gere in 2016. Lauer paid a little over $36 million for the estate, where he has been hiding out ever since the sexual harassment scandal broke last November.
Although it sounds like Lauer and Roque are nearing an end to their breakup, it still isn’t clear who will receive the home. Luckily, the two agreed to a post-nuptial contract in 2006 after Roque threatened to bolt, so the process of dividing assets should be fairly smooth.

In addition to the estate in the Hamptons, Lauer recently sold his apartment in New York’s Upper East Side for over $7 million. He also put his house in Sag Harbor for sale for $12.7 million, which is considerably less than the $18 million he originally wanted.
While Lauer is willing to give Roque whatever she wants, he reportedly wants to keep his house in the Hamptons all to himself.
Lauer and Roque have not commented on the rumors surrounding their divorce. The former couple has reportedly agreed to split custody of their three kids: Jack, 17, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11. Sources close to Matt Lauer say that he has been a great father over the past few months, despite all of the drama in his life.
