Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel are still fighting with each other. During the World Series last night between the Boston Red Sox and the LA Dodgers, Matt and Jimmy sat next to each other wearing the same “I’m with stupid” t-shirt, albeit in different colors.
Damon was wearing the red shirt symbolizing his support for the Boston Red Sox, and Jimmel was wearing a blue-shirt in support of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ben Affleck joined the two men and appeared to remain neutral. However, Affleck is reportedly a hardcore Sox fan. He was there previously with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their children.
The baseball game was attended by a plethora of different celebrities including Jason Bateman, Billy Crudup, Arsenio Hall, Joe Jonas, Oliver Hudson, Leslie Mann, Conan O’Brien, Nikki Sixx, Pat Sajek, Lil’ Wayne, and Bryan Cranston. For fans of popular and celebrity culture, the game was heaven.
As fans of Damon and Kimmel know, their supposed “rivalry” goes back a full fifteen years when Jimmy kept jokingly apologizing for not having Matt on the show for enough time.
During the infamous video clip that went viral, Matt makes his way on to the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and during the final moments, Jimmy says that he, unfortunately, doesn’t have enough time. In the YouTube segment below, you can see that this inside joke began years ago.
Finally, Matt, who has been dealing with this for years, became so angry and red in the face, that he screamed at the host for the neverending faux-disrespect.
However, most fans know that it was all just a well-acted ruse. Even though it’s common knowledge now, the general public – at one point – thought Matt was actually mad, and Jimmy was really slighting him.
In truth, Jimmy and Matt are very good friends. And it looks like Damon was awarded by the Karma Gods, as the Boston Red Sox won 5-1, marking their first championship game in fifteen years. Steven Pearce, the team’s baseman/outfielder, was named the most valuable player of the World Series Final.
