Mary J. Blige’s divorce with Kendu Isaacs is officially finalized! It was confirmed that an L.A. County Superior Court judge signed off on the legal split today.
As fans may be aware, it has been three months since the ex pair settled their divorce out of court.
Blige and Isaacs were married for no less than 13 years before the GRAMMY winner decided to file for divorce back in July of 2016.
One year ago, Blige was ordered by a judge to pay her former husband a temporary spousal support of no less than $30,000 monthly.
In addition, she was also required to pay him $135,000 retroactively for the period starting with Sept. 1, 2016.
Finally, the woman was to pay $100,000 in lawyer fees and experts costs, which was, in fact, less than the man was originally asking for in court – a whopping $167,000.
Aside from her divorce, Blige’s career has been flourishing this past year.
The star was even nominated in not one but two categories at the Oscars – Best Original Song as well as Best Supporting Actress for her notable contribution to Mudbound.
Blige was then thrown an amazing celebration by power couple Beyonce and Jay Z.
On the red carpet at the Academy Awards, Blige told ET at the time that ‘It’s happening tonight. We have the fam doing something big for us tonight. I feel blessed. I feel truly blessed to have people who care about me that much. I care about them that much, and it just feels really good.’
