After Fergie received a lot of criticism following her national anthem performance at the NBA All-Star Game yesterday, Mariah Carey decided to show her support. The fellow singer had some wise words for her as well.
When asked about what advice she would give Fergie during an interview, Mariah replied: ‘Darling, no one needs to listen to that.’
That is indeed the only healthy choice!
Ignoring the haters is what any public person should do if they want not to lose their sanity or their sense of self-worth.
And Mariah Carey definitely knows a lot about that as the singer is not a stranger to receiving criticism.
Fergie created controversy when she chose to perform a pretty different rendition of the national anthem yesterday at the game.
The celeb’s voice sounded amazing, but people were not crazy about her bluesy and sexy delivery of ‘The Star Spangled Banner.’
One day after the scandal, she is still trending on Twitter, but Fergie is yet to address the situation.
Roseanne Barr was one of the people slamming Fergie, tweeting: ‘Who saw Fergie’s national anthem performance at the NBA All Star Game? I think mine was better low-key.’
Roseanne was also criticized for her performance of the national anthem back in 1990 at an MLB game.
She was widely criticized for her weak vocals and for grabbing her crotch at the end.
But Mariah Carey is not the only one to defend Fergie.
Shaquille O’Neal said: ‘Oh, stop, do not do that. Leave my Fergie alone. Fergie, I love you. It was different; it was sexy.’
It sounds like Shaq liked exactly what some people hated about it. – Says a lot about personal taste!
