This morning, fans of Machine Gun Kelly were heartbroken to learn about the rapper passing away from a ‘ligma overdose’ at a recording studio. However, he is totally alive and well and there is nothing to worry about.
The shocking article that spread the news was nothing more but another celebrity death hoax.
The fake piece of news even claimed that MGK had been suffering from depression following Eminem’s diss track Killshot and so, his manager encouraged him to seek help.
Another ridiculous claim is that he ‘might have overworked himself’ while working on a clap back at Eminem.
Furthermore, it also asked fans to share the news in order to spread awareness about ‘ligma.’
For the record, ‘ligma’ is nothing more than a fictional disease or drug that has become part of internet culture and it is usually used to refer to celeb death hoaxes.
It seems like the one who made the term go viral was gamer Ninja, who was also the victim of fake death news back in August.
The following month, Tekashi 6ix9ine went through the same thing.
So to be clear, ligma is not real and the article spreading the lie that MGK had passed away was most likely just trolling but as not everyone is familiar with the word, some fans were actually worried about his wellbeing.
Machine Gun Kelly took to social media just yesterday to wish his drummer, Rook, a very happy birthday.
The rapper also shared a pic featuring himself in a yellow jacket and thanked fans in the caption.
‘I started a lot of sh*t in this jacket 🤣🖕🏽💯. grateful for the fans holdin it down while we were on tour!!! 🔪🔪 im back for album 4 🤐😈📷: @j_wozy.’
