Mac Miller may be famous but it doesn’t make him exempt from following the law. The rapper was arrested for a DUI at his California home on Thursday morning after he drove his 2016 G Wagon drunk, crashed, then fled the scene — on foot!
The whole thing was witnessed by a civilian who called the authorities. All it took was for police to look up his tag number to find out that Mac was the culprit.
He wasn’t alone at the time, he was with two other friends who were also intoxicated. The 26-year-old and his passengers were physically okay which could be considered a miracle considering that the impact of the crash was so intense that it took out a pole!
TMZ reports that the “Watching Movies” rapper was one of the most pleasant criminals that they’ve ever arrested. When authorities showed up at his door, he straight out admitted what he’d done.
An officer told TMZ: “He was the most polite and nice intoxicated person we’ve ever seen.”
This comes after he and Ariana Grande recently announced their break up. The two are still the best of friends even though their engagement didn’t work out.
The “No Tears Left To Cry” singer released a statement that read, in part: “Hi! This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet, Malcolm McCormick. I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times, regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!”
“Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment it’s not you. I can’t wait to know and support you forever and I’m so proud of you,” it went on to say.
Mac’s bail has been set at $15,000.
