Lucy Hale hinted that she might have suffered a sexual assault in an Instagram post on the 18th of January. However, the small-screen star has since deleted the message.
According to Us Weekly, Lucy wrote that she “deleted it from Instagram,” but her message had to be heard, which was that she never understood sexual assault until tonight.
Hale revealed that the pain she felt pushed her to understand the feelings of other victims. She said, “my dignity and pride was broke.”
Sources close to the star said, “I’m not exactly sure what Lucy was referring to, but it has everyone freaked out because we don’t know if something bad happened to her or not.”
The Pretty Little Liars alum wrote that she would try to use her experience to help others and said no one should ever feel that pain. It’s not needed.
Since then, both posts have been deleted from Instagram and Twitter but not before many of her fans could respond.
One fan wrote, “Lucy, my heart is broken for this. You don’t deserve this kind of treatment at all! I hope you figure this out, don’t feel alone, it’s ok, and it’s not your fault.”
Another person sympathized by recanting their own story of abuse, “my ex-boyfriend abused me physically for a long time, so I know what it feels like to suffer victimization. Don’t feel alone.”
Additionally, TMZ revealed that earlier in the month on the 9th of January, an unknown perpetrator broke into the star’s home.
She wrote to her fans, “thanks for all of the kind words” regarding her house. Her statements come at a time when Hollywood is still reeling from the cascade of allegations against influential men.
