Over five months since her embarrassing arrest in a Palm Beach hotel, the reality TV star has accepted a plea deal. The Daily Mail was the first to report that Luann de Lesseps will be having the more serious charges against her dropped.
Apparently, in exchange to dropping some of the charges, including resisting arrest, battery of an officer and disorderly intoxication, the Real Housewives of New York City will be pleading guilty to a lesser misdemeanor.
That being said, Luann will return to court for a plea conference this summer, in July and that is when her charges are set to be reduced.
As you may remember, Luann got arrested on Christmas Eve, and soon after, she opened up about the incident and even apologized for her behavior, blaming it on her recent divorce.
‘This was my first time in Palm Beach since my wedding, and being here brought up long-buried emotions. I want to offer my very sincere apologies to anyone I might’ve offended with my behavior. I’m committed to transformative and hopeful 2018,’ the reality TV star said..
And sure enough, she took the necessary measures to change as, following her arrest, she checked into rehab to fix her alcohol problem.
Career-wise, things continued as usual – in addition to appearing on RHONY she was also part of a cabaret show known as Countess and Friends.
‘I cannot avoid the whole story of what happened to me in Palm Beach. I am trying to keep it light while also taking it seriously. The important thing is to not take yourself so seriously. I always think, ‘I can survive this if I keep on moving,’’ she told the New York Times.
