According to some new reports, the reality TV star is off the hook for now. Luann de Lesseps’ legal team announced the hearing that was supposed to take place today will be rescheduled ‘in about 30 days.’
As fans of the Real Housewives of New York may remember, on Christmas Eve, the woman was arrested after she had a drunken run-in with the police.
At the time she had broken into someone else’s hotel room in Palm Beach and refused to leave even after the authorities were called.
In fact, she reportedly attacked one police officer and threatened to kill him.
She was however released soon after without a bond.
Exactly a month later, on January 24, Luann was charged with two misdemeanors (trespassing and disorderly intoxication,) resisting arrest, felony, and aggression against a police officer.
Reports say that if found guilty, she might end up spending five years behind bars.
Her attorney officially confirmed that her court hearing today did not take place.
‘Yes, [it was canceled]. It was only a status hearing for the state to file the charges and the state filed charges,’ the man explained.
Although no official date for the rescheduling has been decided, it will most probably take place within the next month.
‘It will be set for a case disposition hearing in about 30 days,’ the lawyer continued.
Shortly after her drunken rampage, Luann checked into rehab.
She then took to social media to update her fans on her status upon returning home from the facility.
‘It is good to be home. I am doing great. Spending time with close friends and family. Thank you, everyone, for your continued good wishes and support,’ she wrote.
