Lori Loughlin Joked About Paying For Daughter’s Education In 2017 YouTube Video!
In the light of the college entrance scam scandal, the video posted on YouTube by Lori Loughlin’s influencer daughter Olivia Jade Giannuli back in 2017 is very awkward. During the clip, the Fuller House actress joked about paying for Olivia’s education, and it is safe to say the clip has not aged well.
As you know, Lori and her husband Mossimo Giannuli were indicted for paying half a million dollars in bribes just to get their daughters admitted to the University of Southern California (USC).
The bribe was so that they were named recruits in the rowing team, despite the fact that they never really participated in the sport.
The YouTube video shows Olivia Jade, who is now 19 years old, teaching her mom slang words.
At some point, she also asks Lori about the ‘England is my city’ lyric from Jake Paul’s viral ‘It’s Every Day Bro’ song and music video.
That is when the mother joked that ‘If you would’ve said, ‘England is my city,’ I would say, ‘Why did I pay all this money for your education?’’
It was all in good fun but now that the scandal has exploded, the meaning of her words is completely different than it sounded at the time.
Lori and fellow actress Felicity Huffman were among no less than 50 people involved in this scheme to get their kids into elite Universities, therefore taking the spots from deserving students.
The two and Lori’s husband were arrested last week but then released on separate $1 million bonds.
The investigation has been dubbed by the authorities as ‘Operation Varsity Blues’ and is considered the biggest college entrance scam in the country’s history.
