There are a number of celebrities who are known for their ubiquitous presence on social media. Model, TV personality and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen is certainly one of them. The boisterous beauty who is often outspoken on social media revealed on Twitter that she had stopped using Snapchat.
I stopped using snap. The update, the constant complaints of people not being able to find me, plus the Rihanna poll…no bueno

Teigen isn’t the first celebrity who has openly criticized Snapchat. In fact, all of their dwindling luck started after they rolled out a massive update that completely changed the interface of the platform.
With this update, countless users complained that they could no longer properly see who they were following as well as being unable to navigate the platform with ease.
Kylie Jenner famously commented on her lack of Snapchat use since the update back in February.
sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.

Then there was the Rihanna and Chris Brown poll that made light and poked fun of the domestic violence Rihanna experienced in that relationship.
Despite Snapchat apologizing for what they claimed was an oversight, many people have curbed their use of Snapchat or stopped using it all together for these reasons.
This is a huge deal as Snapchat’s stock and its CEO’s net worth continue to rapidly decrease because of these huge errors.
Teigen isn’t the first, nor will she be the last celebrity to denounce Snapchat.
What is particularly interesting about her choice to do so is that she’s used the app for so long and has posted countless snaps about her day, pregnancy, what she’s cooking and so much more.
Snapchat functioned as a bit of a visual daily diary, yet many people aren’t too bent out of shape about its demise. Especially because Instagram has introduced their “stories” feature which is basically like Snapchat’s with less cool filters.
It remains to be seen if Snapchat is going to attempt a complete overhaul to improve functionality and encourage more usage or if they’ll go by the waste side and become obsolete like some other platforms that have come before it.
One thing is for sure, they’ve been getting negative press for over a month now and may not be able to sustain their positive relevance before too long.
